Smoothies
Our first trick is simple – blend them up into something delicious! Smoothies can help take the stigma away from fruits, turning them instead into a delicious, refreshing drink. If your little one is still resisting, you can even sweeten the deal with some honey, agave nectar, or frozen yogurt.
Fun Shapes
Another way to make fruits more appealing for children is to cut them into fun shapes – think stars, cars, dinosaurs, or whatever else your child is fixated on for the moment. We know they say not to play with food, but when it’s for a cause as good as this, we think it’s ok!
Cheat – A Little
If your child really has a problem with eating fruits, sometimes it’s alright to cheat a little by pairing them with frozen yogurt or low fat ice cream. While the added sugar is less than ideal, the antioxidants in the fruit will help to neutralize the effect of the sugar and your child will still get all the vitamins from the fruit.
